The term ?Pursuit? is a term used to describe an offensive operation which is designed to destroy or cut off a retreating force. Normally this occurs after the defending force has been successfully routed. The fleeing force is normally in disarray when it is being pursued so a successful pursuit seeks to take advantage of this. This operation is hard on the pursuing force but the commander who has the upper hand will press the enemy at all costs.

There are many problems inherent in the pursuit for the retreating enemy as well as the attackers but the biggest problem for both sides is the issue of maintaining control of its individual elements. Units have to maintain discipline in order to withdraw from the battlefield successfully but this is seldom the case. Units who know that an attacking enemy is on their heels rarely remain in a designated area for the designated time. One example of this was our execution of the retrograde during the Korean War. The units which were designated to relieve the 24th Infantry Division left their posts so that the 24th had no one there to hold the line until they could reach their designated area to defend. The result was an all out rout with the 24th having to be in contact with the attacking armies for the duration of the operation.

The retreating unit may not have time to recover vehicles and other equipment which has broken down on the battlefield. Broken equipment is normally repaired or towed during normal operations but there may not be time enough to do so when the unit is being pursued. Many times communication among different elements of the retreating unit will be lost which results in more of a loss of control.

Units which are being chased may run out of supplies, food, and ammunition. Fleeing units may not be able to defend themselves because of a lack of necessary equipment. Many times retreating units will be cut off from all of the support that they need in order to survive. Many isolated units have perished during this type of operation which is the goal of the attacking force. Units which are in full retreat do not have time to prepare adequate defensive positions to keep their attackers at bay. Their defensive focus is to slow the attacking force down long enough to allow other units to get out of harms way.

The pursuit also presents a series of complicated problems for the attacking force. First of all they encounter the same command and control problems. The pursuit must allow small unit commanders to use their own initiative and promotes aggressive action. When you allow this you will not have an immediate handle on what all of the units subordinate to you are doing at any given time. It is also extremely difficult to keep pursuing units adequately resupplied. They will frequently outrun the supply trains and it is difficult to anticipate resupply points because the movement of the pursuing units is so hard to track. Pursuing units also often outrun lines of communication in that they may frequently travel beyond radio range. Friendly and enemy units will become intermingled during this type of operation which increases the chances that aircraft or artillery will fire on their own troops.

Pursuing units will frequently use captured enemy equipment and supplies rather than wait on their own resupply because pursuing commanders will not want to lose the momentum that they have built during the attack. target=”_blank” href=http://www.militaryringexpress.com/products> Military Ring Express

Having arrived at the close of the first quarter of the new school year and having completed fall conferences, I find there is not even the briefest pause in the frenzied push to bring all students to my state’s specified level of reading achievement as evidenced by a specified range of scores on my district’s specified assessment. This frenzy continues on as though all children develop neurologically at a specified rate, as though all children mature physically and emotionally at a specified rate, as though their homes, environments, diets, bedtimes, exercise, and life stressors all align with a specified uniformity. It would appear as though a specified time is spent, each evening, reading or being read to by all children in all homes, regardless of all the diversity of cultural and family norms today. Even more ludicrous, it would appear that all time spent by all children in front of all forms of electronic toys and devices, including television and play-stations, is specified including content and duration of time.

The momentum of this frenzy is being maintained and fueled, at least in my world, under the umbrella of the RTI process (Response to Intervention) a procedure of progress monitoring come of age with the passage of IDEA 2004. The constant assessment and data analysis that accompanies this progress monitoring under this RTI paradigm shift is wearing me out, and my peers as well. I find myself caught in a quandary of when and how to carry out formal and informal assessment of benchmarks and progress monitoring during the instructional day. This data, once collected, must be analyzed aside from the demands and rigors of delivering good instruction and mandated curriculum which extend long beyond a reasonable workday. In addition, the reporting and regurgitating of this data takes place before or after the workday with the preparation thereof taking place outside of the workday as well. Those of us who are caught up in this new paradigm know that all these intrusive added variables come at a sacrifice of our energies, time, and our abilities to deliver good instruction and to give the best of ourselves as educators to our students. It has not been specified to us as yet, however, just how to achieve these impossible demands and be good at what we are suppose to be doing, which is to teach to the ends that children learn!

I am discovering, however, that there are some very talented individuals who are very aware of the struggles of educators, like me, desperately trying to make sense of all of this frenzied madness. One such individual is Diane Ravitch, former Assistant Secretary of Education under the first president Bush and a nationally recognized scholar and historian of education. Ms. Ravitch has reversed her stance on issues such as standardized testing, school choice and the No Child Left Behind Act as noted in an article posted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on March 5, 2010, authored by Maureen Downey a longtime reporter for the AJC, http://blogs.ajc.com/get-schooled-blog/2010/03/05/diane-ravitch-education-has-become-search-and-destroy-mission-and-teachers-are-the-targets/. These individuals are also intensely dedicated to the education and the well being of our nation’s youth as well.

So, as I take this moment to pause at the close of this first quarter of the new school year, this article and the voices it represents, gives me hope in knowing that there are others out there working to make sense of this madness and moving forward toward rational resolutions as well.

Although possibly a little less obvious than some other locations in the united states, St. Louis has a different community new music scene. St. Louis represents home to numerous venues and also local bars that will have live music on a regular basis right here, the city has additionally been home to such music symbols such as Chuck Berry and Tina Turner. Whenever you have community bands and artists competing for consideration, there is an inherent interest in recording, and St. Louis is actually no different. Remarkably, however, there is a amazing absence of possibilities to study music as well as producing within the region. St. Louis music schools, may offer an appropriate course here or there, however they do not seem to point out recording much in any way, there’s also not many particular possibilities in the region to learn recording as well as creation in general.

So exactly who is working St. Louis’ music studios? And also where exactly did these people manage to get their education?

The truth is, if you wish to understand recording inside a conventional or academic environment, maybe you are likely to need to take a trip beyond St. Louis. No doubt a number of the competent music experts within St. Louis probably did that very thing. Chances are, however most of them weren’t officially educated and were probably self trained. . Question most people in the business exactly how they learned it, almost all will speak of someone who tutored these people, rather than where they received the particular diploma that may or may possibly not end up being hung on their wall. Therefore it seems apparent that music is a learn through carrying out business. Possibly even individuals who spent time and expense upon official instruction will probably treasure their on the job, real world experience. St. Louis audio colleges may well provide a well rounded education in certain ways, but when you are going into recording, you’re still likely to want a certain amount of coaching in addition to that education.

Fortunately, there is a teaching technique available that’s gaining traction in this industry, for the unique valid reason that it targets mastering through doing. This tutor apprentice method resolves a lot of issues because it cuts down on learning interruptions of self instructing while stressing mentorship and everything at far less expenditure compared with what conventional approaches can offer. How it operates is that rather than taking the student in to a separate studying setting (which in turn must be taken care of financially), mentorship schooling positions the student in a real studio with a operating specialist to learn on real assignments. Quite simply, the particular students discover by performing. By the time these people graduate the program, pupils surely have by now acquired valuable practical experience in the industry in addition to ideally made sustained associations that will aid them with forthcoming jobs. The best part will be, this particular mentorship method is available in St. Louis, where by some other methods aren’t.

Therefore if you were checking out St. Louis music schools to locate a music course, and come up with nothing, there could be an alternative solution to needing to travel somewhere for that education. That music studio down the avenue may very well be the class you might have already been looking for.

With the economy in such bad shape many people don’t know where to turn. Many people have been unemployed for an entire year or more with few signs of hope. In some job fields there is little room for new workers. By many projections these dismal circumstances could continue for many more months or even years.

Although things are bleak now, there is a silver lining created by providing economic opportunity for several different pursuits. The Obama administration and lawmakers have been on a mission to put consumer protections in place while still allowing business markets to prosper. Education has also been a major focus. One area that has received specific focus is financial aid for college students. President Obama’s Scholarships for Moms program is as straightforward as it sounds and hopefully as effective. To ensure children in the years to come value education, it’s important to begin with educating mothers.

If you’re a mother, the grant would come from the government’s Pell Grant system. Under the new system moms can get as much as $5,000 for their education. The $5,000 can be used to pay for a variety of education-related expenses. The grant can be used to pay for any college fees, the cost of supplies and other miscellaneous expenses that may be needed to ensure you can attend school as scheduled. It’s an added bonus that the program lets you choose the institution that’s best for your needs. You can attend most institutions whether they are junior colleges or 4-year universities.

The results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will determine eligibility for scholarships and grants. Going online to complete the FAFSA is essential for any federal aid. There are many other kinds of financial aid as well, and the internet is a great place to research them. It’s possible that you learn about opportunities that you didn’t know about before. Checking a school’s financial aid web page or calling the office is also a good way to get information about available money.

In the realm of education, scholarships and grants are a key component for a strong system. When moms earn grants to enroll in college they’re preparing themselves to contribute valuable ideas to the work force and to provide substantial support for their families. The lasting effects on families are the most important aspect of Obama’s scholarships for mothers. It is the educated men and women of today as well as children who are gifted with education opportunities that will lead the country toward a brighter future.

Initial Assessment is the part of the course where you begin to know your delegates in order to you aim your programme at the correct level. I have taught in a variety of various teaching situations, from colleges and universities to bespoke business to business training and conferences and have learnt that the approach to Initial Assessment is vastly different in each environment. In work-based training, for example, Initial Assessment takes a large part of the programme, taking up to six weeks to complete. In business to business situations, however, (for example IT training) the initial assessment part can sometimes be a few questions, asking how confident the learner is with computers. So why is initial assessment not given the same prominence within business-to-business training? Could greater use be made of initial assessment?

So why implement assessment before training has started? My recent article on assessment highlighted different ways assessment can be carried out, but why implement a period of assessment before training has even begun? If the delegate can see the point of Initial Assessment and it is completed WITH the learner, not TO them, the process should be a positive, motivating experience, helping you and your delegate identify strengths and areas for improvement. The programme can then be tailored to the individual, so that time can be focussed on the development needs than on areas the learner is already comfortable – the training then becomes more relevant.

One issue is that it takes time to look at the results of initial assessment and to tailor the course to the results. However, even short one-day programmes could star with initial assessment – one answer to the lack of time problem is to compose a short questionnaire to be completed by delegates before the training commences. The results of this may be used not only to tailor the course to the correct level but also give information on which areas of the training to focus more on. The results may also help plan how groups are organised, do you want groups where the confident and less confident delegates are grouped together? Do you want less confident learners grouped together on a different session? Having the initial assessment information before the teaching starts gives time to think these issues through before you are stood in front of a group of learners. Questionnaires are far from perfect, however and a short meeting before the training might give better results in some circumstances. Longer courses may benefit from a discrete period of initial assessment, where the delegates’ past learning, experience and expectations are considered.

Another benefit of a period of initial assessment is that it may help justify the resources spent on the programme. The initial assessment is a benchmark, which can be used to evidence distance travelled, which, as well as being useful for motivating the learner, shows that the training activity has been successful to whoever is commissioning the work. This can’t be a bad thing.

Education is always an important key to a good future. President Obama is a good example, and he has shown his commitment to helping others. Free money through grants and scholarships is only the beginning.

Although the economy has dramatically fallen, college prices have continued to rise for many years. College costs can really add up especially when money for things besides tuition and housing is considered. Many young adults choose to forgo college because of the cost. Single, working moms are a big section of this group. Helping single mothers get an education helps their families and future employers. More scholarships for single moms is one way to improve the situation. Federal Pell Grants have now been fondly called Obama grants. Currently students can earn about $5,350 through a Pell grant. Before Pell grants maxed out at about $4,000. The scholarship money covers practically all school-related expenses.

There’s also another great program: the American Opportunity Tax Credit. With this tax program, the first $4,000 of community college or university expenses are free. Especially for less expensive schools, $4,000 could be a significant help for a student. Single moms often fall into this group, so these programs are particularly beneficial to them. There are almost no restrictions on where and what a student studies. Now the expenses are just a little lighter, and eager mothers can enroll in school.

With his actions President Obama has confirmed his belief in this issue. With some changes to the lending system, many graduate and undergraduate loans will be less costly. The administration is also focusing on improving the performance of schools at all levels. There is also emphasis on encouraging more students to consider community college. Community college is important to prepare students for a 4-year college but also to prepare them for a 2-year degree or technical skill.

In 2007 Obama stated, “We need to put a college education within reach of every American. That’s the best investment we can make in our future.” So far Obama’s actions are backing up his words. Even though Obama’s grants for moms get much attention they are certainly not the only important opportunity being offered. Traditional and non-traditional students alike have numerous opportunities to put their education first.

Taking a typing course today affords you many benefits even when you have no plans of becoming an employee. You may need to use the keyboard everyday to accomplish personal tasks such as encoding something on your laptop for documentation. You will also need to use the keyboard if you are sending e-mails or having chat conversations with someone on the internet.

If you are an employee or planning to apply for a job, one of the requirements that you should meet is computer literacy or being able to do touch typing. Of course, at first, having the touch typing skill may not be easily achieved. But as you spend longer time on the keyboard-either doing typing practice or something else-you will notice that being quick with your fingers on the keyboard comes naturally.

Touch typing is the act of typing without the help of your eyes. This means to say that even when your eyes focus on something else, you can still type the words and sentences that you want to type. This skill is very convenient, if you are composing a letter or document and your boss or co-worker is speaking with you.

Touch typing skill is also helpful, if you are typing from a dictation of someone who is currently speaking, either in a meeting or as a secretary typing a letter dictated by your boss. If you are a secretary or assistant and you need to document the minutes of the meeting, being able to do touch typing is very helpful and convenient.

Documentation is another tasks accorded to employees regardless of the position. Having the skill to simultaneously read the lines from a book or any other source of information and type them on your computer is time-efficient. It makes you finish the documentation tasks in a few minutes, compared to having many pauses while typing because you need to refer to the source for the next sentences to type.

When you are at home, your connection to computers does not end. You may have to check your personal e-mails, because you cannot do that at work. In some instances, people do their budgeting with a spreadsheet or worksheet on their laptop. If you maintain a personal virtual journal, you will need the typing skills.

Having a typing course enables you to accomplish a lot of things. You can listen and watch videos on the internet. If you like a particular video, you can express your emotions and thoughts by liking it and leaving a comment. Typing skills are necessary, if you are doing research on the internet. It makes your jobs easier to complete because you can shift from subject to subject that you would like to research with ease.

If your office has more than two staff members, it is possible to have an internal chat system-or any chat system available on the internet for free-as a means of communication. This scenario is very true in most corporations. So, having a typing course is very beneficial to you. You can also take an online typing course.

People would look at me horrified, and I would be mystified to justify that while we did not have a prim skill program, that my kids got stacks of knowledge instruction through arena trips and probing Internet searches. Field trips allow knowledge to be experiences instead of trained. Try to wait in context with what you are studying in other subjects. For instance, when we were studying early American History, we went to see the Titanic Exhibit. Besides the stumble reinforcing what they were wisdom about the historical proof of the significance, they also learned about rust and the knowledge of oodles and stresses that ultimately caused the send to sink. Mentally cook your children for the tumble. After deciding an exhibit to stay, seek for education activities that the children can do to make themselves for the stumble. For example, the Titanic Science Website has a 60 page boo let download with related hands on activities. My family went to the records and check out a team of historical biographies of people who had been on the ship, and a book based on the excavations of the Titanic. Timing is everything. Try to go on province trips when large groups are slightest possible to be there. I have found that schools holiday exhibits in the morning from 9 am pending lunch time and the universal broadcast visit exhibits in the sunset and weekends. The means the lunchtime hour through about 4pm are idyllic epoch to get exhibits all to manually. This means you will also have the tour guides to yourself.

Ask many questions. If there is a tour handbook presented, encourage your children to ask many questions to persuade their curiosity. If there are, no tour guides write down questions they come up with, and use the exhibit to explore and determine the answers for your questions. Look up remaining questions on the internet when you get home. Do admire-up studies after the spree. When I say do hunt up studies, I do not mean read a book and take an exam. What I like to do is let the children purchase a souvenir book, as they typically repress all the facts. I let them explore it at their leisure, and I find that will stay to confer the stumble for at slightest a month. Plan the next voyage. I try to give three weeks to a month between science exhibits. The gives children time excitedly to prepare for the spree and then to explore the business for a while on their own after the outing. When their discussions of the voyage are winding down, I know it time to graph the next pasture trip.

Most applicants believe that student life is full of happy and carefree moments. Each day is crammed with parties and friendly communication. However, when entering the college, the entrant should bear in mind that that college is also full of responsibilities and duties, since it is a new step up to an adult world. It is also the first, conscious decision taken by a person that can influence his/her future life. In this respect, it is necessary for an applicant to pay attention to some nuances of college life, including both advantages and disadvantages.

The core things that should tackled when entering the college:

•	The tuition cost is the thing that should be discussed at the family board.

•	The popularity in college is also a dangerous thing as it can influence the relation with your friends. More importantly, it can negatively effect your personal appraisal and worsen your progress in college.

•	The distance to the college is not of minor importance as well. Certainly, some applicants might think that the farther they go, the more freedom they get. Nevertheless, they should remember that excessive and uncontrolled freedom could be even more harmful than severe rules and restrictions.

•	The college biases and difficulties originally involve exams, lectures, lessons, assignments researches that require your wittiness, patience, and aspiration. Therefore, there should be the equilibrium between leisure and academic time.

When choosing a college a student first thinks of:

•	College should be perceived as a perfect career to start. It is recognized that the core role of college lies in providing knowledge, improving skills, and revealing talents. However, it should be also taken into account that that college is an access to your future profession. Therefore, an applicant must pay attention to the college connection with different enterprises, plants, and firms. In addition to this, college should provide this information for all students in advance thus giving them a chance to choose an appropriate profession.
